Regarding the SP of a penny dreadful, versus say 100x that same, stock consolidated, for the reasons noted I believe it is total furphy. As I said I am basing that on my discussions with fund managers it may be that some vocal people at AVB think otherwise but in the end the instos they want to target with the higher SP, who I think are the major and marginal buyers, go on earnings per share and P/E ratio. If I multiply or divide a share 100 times and perform the same operation on the earnings, the result is the same, as is the value proposition.
I studiously avoided the comments in AVB but that's my humble opinion.

Thanks re the Westgold explanation, but I still can't see the relevance. My study started in Nov 2014, not 2012.

Re AVB, I had no that idea the subject had been raised there. I just picked up the large number of shares today after reading this: https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/co...-years.3242444/?post_id=22788650#.WK2EhYVOLcs. It was a coincidence!!

Seeing that MLX is a pure base metals company, this may interest you - CU.
