One of my favourites is attributed to Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf during a media conference prior (I think) to the first Gulf War. He was being badgered by the reporters continually asking him what he thought of Saddam. Essentially they were trying to get him to make some printable comments (or sound bites) condemming Saddam as a mass murderer and criminal.
Tired of the hassling he eventually responded...
"Ma'am, I'm just a humble soldier and its not my place to make these sorts of judgements about people. That's God's job and I'm sure that when God and Saddam get together, the right outcome will be reached."
"My job ..... well, that's pretty simple. My job is to arrange the meeting!"
