Prime example of Australian steel manufacturing. We have shutdown most of out capability over the last 30 years just so we can send out met coal and iron ore to China and then buy the steel back. When we should have built a rail network between QLD and WA and transported the ore and coal to each coast and manufactured steel to supply the world. But our governments were to concerned about how much revenue they would generate through exports. Can you imagine the jobs and wealth we could have created locally.
