They might not get any choice. China has ceased export of the precious metals required in production of any tech you care to mention. Japan has a year's supply stockpiled, the US does not. Trump has China right where he wants them, it was all part of the plan to be starved of production material sourced from the country which supplies more than 90% of the world's rare earth material requirements. Tariffs really don't matter any more for a big pile of reasons. Plan B?
