Actually there's a third option, biflation where assets deflate and food and energy inflate. It's happening now in the US and here to a lesser degree. Walmart is pushing up prices, in some cases 50% as sales slip. Oil is up and staying put. Food prices are spiraling up and house prices and stocks are slipping and showing no sign of recovery for years.
