Mr Shorten entered parliament in the 2007 RuddSlide after rising to national prominence on TV & media in the wake of the 2006 Beaconsfield Gold Mine disaster.
Remember his constant TV news & media presence through the Beaconsfield events - he had logistic help from the Pratt Group
Interesting that gold in Au$ has risen 5 or 6 times its 2006 value -
I wonder if the Beaconsfield Gold Mine will re-open some time?
