I can not understand how there is a housing shortage. Just take a look around the Meadowbank area + Ryde area as an example or the now very popular Canterbury/marrickville region and see the huge number of units being built and are planned to be built. Go to Ashfield and see the offices that have been set up to sell the unit complexes that are being built there.
All are being catered for the Asian market. All in Asian language.
Affordability for Australians is the problem as we seek to buy a home and give our kids a good lifestyle. We are being forced to go way out west for a home that is as small as a home unit with no infrastructure or playing facilities.
As you know Asians are not interested in that style of living.
Must say the design of many units are quite good. Not sure about quality. Probably most are built in a way you can hear them in the toilet or bonking.
