The report I agree is sensationalism with probably an ulterior motive, however, to suggest that all is fine is burying your head in the sand.
Banks have had a great run from the property boom but with prices already at 10-12 times the average annual salary, where will the growth in prices come from? The market is forward looking, maybe the price drop is in response to this fuelled by offshore hedge funds.
Finally I work in an industry linked to the "mining boom", if anyone thinks things will return to how they were a few years ago they've got rocks in their head.
