The fact of the matter is that few economists are any good , these ones would know that Australia puts in 0.06% of emmissions and this tax will do nothing to help !!! Because this is such a low figure Julie Gillard has to play it the other way and try to put an amount on per capita !!! . Of course this would look high because we have lots of industry and resources and few people !
Since Labour came to power , first with the miners tax , the investing world said....Whoa what has happened to Australia ? they used to be so stable..........now anything is possible from this govt !! Hence the ASX has been in reverse ever since . AT THE HEIGHT OF THE COMMODITIES BOOM WE SHOULD BE FLYING.........WHY DO YOU THINK WE ARE NOT !!!! . TELL THAT TO YOUR WORLD ECONOMISTS !!
