I agree with what you say, the gas is sold before it is even out of the ground (due to the transportation difficulties of the gas). They will spend millions proving up their resource and shoring up economics and then negotiate sales agreement accordingly to make the project commercial. Being close to two major developments INPEX and WOODSIDE BROWSE definately helps from a commercial point of view. The pure nature of the industry is exactly why you don't need to be looking at spot prices.
This is a long term hold and I can see you are in it for the short term - in that case some of your points are valid.
You should consider puttng some in the bottem draw webspyda.
