Well the Harvard Business Review is not a place I would expect to operate in a real world atmosphere Maybe you should listen to the Regan clip who did not use economists to turn the USA economy around The problem far too often is that there are far to many theorists giving advice out of books rather than what works, and I don' t care if it a big country or the corner store the elements are still the same As I get older and see more of the mistakes and stuff ups that have been made in the world the less I like academics, academics have a place in the overall scheme, I am not against the thinkers and education, just that most of the time it is not practical or real world that has to be addressed and they should never have the power to alter the whole contry Professional politician Economics experts Medical expert They all have one thing in common -- a lot of information about one narrow subject and usually limited common sense or the ability to put theory into practice

As you get older you make more extrapolations based on anecdotes and oversimplifications. If you lack intellectual curiosity you will make mistakes. Dismissing knowledge and expertise is one of them.
