If you are buying 1oz bullion coins or bars in various sizes $AUD 45 to 50 an ounce is the norm . Managed to pick up some nice proof with certificate encased kookaburras recently , 50 bucks each and a lovely 2 ouncer kook . These coins were selling for in excess of $60 a year ago when silver was $AUD 23 an ounce for bullion . In summary if you are going to pay nearly 50 bucks for a standard bullion coin dont be afraid to pay a touch over or the same for a proof.

I forgot to add that if silver is at $100 oz for a run of the mill bullion coin or bar and that becomes the norm , always remember there are egos out there that need to own the one that is a little better , maybe a proof or limited edition .
