I'm shocked at the number of folks on here that obviously haven't tested their silver.... the easy way:
1. weigh the silver piece on a digital scale (grams)- 2. fill a beaker with water- read and record the water level (in milliliters)- 3. put silver bar, coin, irregular shaped, etc.. in beaker- 4. read and record the water level again- 5. record the difference in water level in (mm)
use the formula: Density = weight (grams) / ml of water displacement
