Except the general trend is up. My wife and I bought a bunch in 2015/16 after selling a business. cost between AU $19 to $22ish. Nearly 10 years on was it a good investment? Well it's not bad!
Could it have done better in another investment-like property or the stock market? Maybe! They are not guaranteed either but we have investments in all 3 and have seen 2 of our properties double in the last 5 years. Typical properties that were leveraged at 100% in 2020 are now leveraged at 45% after property prices went up in a big way.
For us property has been the big winner and also receiving income from them as well.

PS the Australian chart looks way better lol.
