Copper isn’t shorted the way silver and gold are - they aren’t worried about copper competing with fiat US dollar as a currency

but there are plenty of shady goings on in. Copper because Chinese traders often use it as financial collateral

so plenty of stories about copper being double counted because traders used it to take out 2 different loans etc

the Chinese now own the LME and there’s been some questioning as a result of that - though I’m not aware of any proven cases of fraud, spoofing etc

not saying copper futures don’t get hit - just not an ongoing intentional major suppression effort like pms
