Just the other day on the radio, a vietnamese boat person commented, that when they came over on their boat in the mid 70's they had nothing, no food, no water, no money, some had no clothes. When they came on shore, they relied on money and clothing/shelter from various religous groiups and people.
they were genuine refugees.
this person further commented, correctly I believe that , most of the "illegal" boat people these days, come wearing designer clothes, laptops etc.... they
