...the truth is that this is Morrison's pledged tax cut that had bipartisan support, but which the Labor Govt had watered down under pressure. If Labor dismantles it, they would be accused of breaking a promise that they themselves supported then.
...sometimes too, if a Govt knows how to be visibly vocal about what they are doing, it can better impress on people that they're doing something. In fact, if they shout loud enough without doing anything, they would be perceived as doing something.
...that's why politics has become a drama to be played out. Showmanship over substance. And most people fall for it.
...and that's the truth at the workplace as well - the one who speaks the most and do the least get recognised while the silent doer gets less to no recognition.
