You are missing the issue.
It is not illegal to jump the queue. There is no legal requirement to queue at all. It is perfectly legal to present oneself as an 'Irregular Maritime Arrival'and then follow the fast track in Australia.
Those who queue in a third country are just being stupid. Like queueing up at a closed down food shop when the lights are on over the road and free food is being served. Why would we want the stupid people who queue at the closed down shop as fellow Australians?
Preference is given to those who arrange their own transport to Australia.
Given that we welcome refugees why demonise those who help them obtain what is legally theirs?
