Gillard replaced Rudd with an axe in the back - plots and plans rippling along in the background whilst she (and others) plotted his downfall. Poor blighter never saw it coming. She sat in Parliament that day - sizing up his back- fixed smile telling us nothing as to her devious plans - then that night delivered the "coup de gras".
Abbott, meanwhile defeated Turnbull by one vote in a transparent Party Room vote! No secret plots. NO knives sharpened.
Labor now have no resort than to try and ridicule and verbalise Abbott constantly. He's doing well, under extremely difficult circumstances. Palmer and his PUPS much more difficult than Oakeshott and Windsor, if that were possible!
And as for the alternative - that noxious little twerp, Shorten - sitting there constantly glowering - hating being powerless - (moreso now that Mummy-in-Law's NO longer GG - (no more Grange! or subservient flunkies opening doorsl) -
having no solutions himself - so sits there with his popgun, shooting away to try and destroy absolutely EVERYTHING Abbott puts up. Just because he can.
Never mind Australia. Never mind US and our democratic vote. which gave a huge mandate to the LNP to come in and renovate - Shorten could care less about us - and OUR rights. To have OUR will validated! To have OUR bestowed mandate left totally workable. No, belligerence and petulantance his only resort, now, face full of hate - he sits there and pings away at every single reform. with his popgun. Some patriot!
And who's the grinning Cheshire Cat waiting HER turn at the helm - why, one Ms. Tanya Plibersek. God help us if she gets the gong.
If there is ANY justice in this world, Gillard will be brought to heel - to get into the witness box - and give her account. But will she - the law CAN be an ass!
In this life the good often suffer - the others, seem to flourish and thrive. Not fair but lif;es not fair. Most often. Just have to get used to it - and carry on, regardless.
Yes, Stay Calm - and Carry On!
Good does prevail. If it didn't - we'd all be long gone - this planet a silent wilderness.

Iron mike, thanks for the rose-coloured glasses view of Tony Abbott's political history. In my next email to Malcolm Turnbull I'll ask him for a response.
As for the regurgitation of the Abbott's delusional mantra that he's doing a good job; even though he has a massive majority in the HOR his Parliament is in absolute shambles. Australians are even wondering which Senator will have their way with him next:
