I love the fact that it took you less than 6 minutes to prove yourself wrong about the first line in your post.
You adjusted what you said; just like the BOM that you condemn.
But I won't hold that against you: I think it is acceptable that people adjust their opinions as new information becomes available, and they should be able to correct their errors, or rephrase their arguments.
Unless, of course, you only ever utter "perfect" posts that never need editing.
