I remember reading about the end stages of WW2 when the allies were literally bombing Germany back to the stoneage. The British head of Bomber command was determined that the Hun would be that sickened by the experience that they would never entertain the thought of starting another war. As ghastly as it was one could argue that it seems to have worked . Looks like Israel is working from the same plan.
