The first two wells in Angola took near nine months SC, and the highest COS would have been drilled first, albeit no success. This may have transformed the eagerness of COP to start early in Senegal, much to the demise of others in the JV, including FAR. It appears to me they may have ditched the rest of the program all together.

With monies burning sitting docked, possibly in preparation of the next on the agenda, it all goes to show how serious they may be to the Senegalese discoveries, including discount rig rates to the joint venture. I think if the Athena would be asked to turn up in the next two weeks, Conoco would have it there. The games have just begun.
