You sold your bph shares got a CGT bill to buy the options and punt that the stock almost quadruples in price pay 10k to convert to potentially make 26k and all of this needs to be done before the 29/7/22

What i think im missing is the sense it would make tax wise so can anyone explain it to me

Example
if you held your original investment (154000 shares) which im going to say was bought for 5c and held until it got to 80c and sold after holding for a year you sold total profit would be 115K less discount method pay tax on 57.75K (which seems to be a better idea)

Other example is
You did the idea of exercising the bad boys at 80c then sold immediately your profit would be 121K.... no discount method pay tax on 121k?

I wish I bought in at 5c. I’m yet to be in profit... I bought in at 23c and held tight all the way back down so there’s been no large cgt event at this stage.
