When Johnny Howard lost office (and his own seat) in 2007 the sharemarket and economy were booming. Of course Rudd promised the economy would boom even more under him, "everybody would have the most uptodate way of accessing internet porno", and we would never again have a care in the world (or some such thing). I guess this was a case of one liar being successfully outlied by the younger challenger despite the environment being very favourable to the incumbent.
There still seemed to be a lot of interest in the locally based goldies despite the AUD POG having fallen back $60 and our market tanking today. I am looking forward to hearing what the Fed delivers on Thursday (US time), as is just about everybody who invests.
