RUM have only recently begun looking at High Purity quartz/silica, very early stages as far as I know, but they have informed shareholders of their interest.
Yes I remember the SOL takeover of EXCO (and a couple of others which they eventually bought) fairly well.
And their involvement in RUM follows quite a similar path.
