I think it might be a bit more complex than that . If Britain succeeds the push is going to be on to either forgive part of the debts or just have countries walk away from them ,and all of the repercussions that that entails . This is the first and of course lethal first nail in the coffin . How the banks are protected are what's probably being worked on right now . A lot of the countries might be thinking what have we got to lose.
When the political ground changes significantly people like to think it's economic factors but almost always the first trigger is security ,which of course has been masking underlying economic factors.
