We had a breathless walk up into the hills with the royal botanist. You wouldn't expect this bounty at the very end of the fall..

As he picked these for Jo, our botanical guide named each flower. He knows the name of nearly 500 flowers in three different languages, including Latin. There must be a Buttercup in there somewhere.

"If it’s a real Buttercup, it will make your skin glow yellow. Is it doing it?" Jo says.

After sifting through the bouquet of all-sorts the botanist/guide picked for Jo, she held this to her neck and said those words. These little snippets are the sort of things Mothers and Grand-mothers teach young girls on their walks, like little poems to remember them by.

I was amazed as to why the simple little yellow flower reflected so much. On close inspection, it appeared glossy and highly reflective, hence the strong glow. Some of the seeds collected around Prince Charles’ farm in Zalanpatak, Transylvania, are taken back to England to replenish areas that have been diminished due to development.

I wonder how many English Buttercups now have their parents in Romania.
