Dave Im not sure what motivated that post; maybe just trying to stir me up a bit? It worked!
Quick google:
"The Climate Study Group is an unincorporated group of seven Australian conservative men that was formed in 2009 under the name “Fair Farming Group. The Climate Study group is known for taking out a series of advertisements in The Australian newspaper,.....Investigations by DeSmog have found the group’s members have links to mining, finance, agriculture and free market “think tank” the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA).
None of the members of the Climate Study Group appear to have any qualifications in climate science or any record of publishing peer-reviewed research on climate change."
I will continue to take my advice from the worlds leading climate scientists thanks.
& just in case anyone likes to read any of the rubbish in the add and quote the "facts". Simple fact: the climate has changed radically through the last few million years. Its been a lot hotter and a lot colder. Mankind has "flourished" in an incredibly small time frame of about 12,000 years where the earths systems have by coincidence been favourable.
The current dilemma facing the Planet and thereby threatening the future of the human race is the UNDISPUTED (IMO) FACT that mankind is making unseen rates of change to the atmosphere and therfore the climate. It is having probably irreversible impacts on temperature, biodiversity, hydrology, and land systems. There is an incredibly high chance that life as we j=know it will be unrecognisable by the end of this century. Probably earlier.
In my day job I have had the good fortune to hang out with a lot of "smartest people in the room". It menas I am considered to know "a little about a lot" (expert in nothing! LOL) In case anyone has an interest I have embarked on what was originally going to be a book but I am hoping to produce as a series of essays. See the very draft Table of Contents below.
