Actually loss of insects is one of the hidden dangers facing the world today. Anyone who drives a car has the simple indicator of the "windshield" & will remember windscreens covered in dead bugs in decades past. NO ORE! Apparently we are losing insects at > 1% per year from a combination of issues including changing climate, habitat loss and pollution. Consequences include massive increase in biodiversity loss/change and potentially massive impacts on food production due to impacts on pollination.
