Many technical indicators used by traders to gauge strength/weakness or overbought/oversold of stocks.
They are useful for traders & do work in swing trades.....But as a matter of fact they are lagging indicators & they don't often give a long term view.
The only indicator that I have a healthy respect for & the only leading indicator in my view is the OBV......it gives telltale signals of the works of SM....Very useful at flat tops & bottoms....In stocks in trading range....In names that are losing upward or downward price momentum.
Watch OBV trends (preferably the weekly one) in important chart junctures.
    # If it is uptrending & conforming to an established uptrend....Sit back & relax if holding....Or buy at a "sweet spot" if not holding.
    # If it is downtrending while price is still going up....Be wary.
    # For bottom lovers....Uptrending OBV (Accumulation/Absorption)is a leading sign of reversal & is usually long lasting , on the other hand a downtrending OBV during a flat bottom (redistribution) is a sure sign of a deeper leg down.....Don't touch.
Worth experimenting & testing this one.....Nothing is foolproof.
