    If BARDA have said we don't want LANI, then management would be negligent if they went right ahead with next phase. BARDA/HHS is the stockpile customer - without this customer, you'd have to seriously consider whether these is a market for the drug, considering the current finances.

    Now in saying all this, it really is fishy because BARDA needs more than one antiviral in the stockpile. Tamiflu and Relenza in two years will be well and truly past generation (plus all this negative Cochrane stuff which is likely to have started all these problems with BARDA in the first place). That leaves just Favipiravir standing (assuming it gets through Phase 3).

    So where does this leave BARDA/HHS (the US Govt) and their mandates? In a precarious position to say the least...

    ...something does not add up, or BARDA/HHS have pulled the on BOTA pin stupidly and too quickly.

    If I was Plumb, I'd be in meetings in Washington laying all these cards on the table, including the card that BOTA might well halt LANI altogether and contract exit costs and unfair rulings (if they can ever get to the bottom of this)...
