    Fair call Patient1, if you are looking at urban asset management in limited road-type environment then Earthmine probably has its advantages. If frequency is your concern though I'd like to see what sort of update frquency you expect from Earthmine, and what sort of turnaround time to cover a metro capital city. Earthmine won't show who has added a pool, illegally cleared vegetation, seasonal environmental changes or whether a crook has good hidnig spots behind a building. Systems like Earthmine are currently limited - or at least commercially focussed on capturing from roads. Like Opilot87, I see it as complimentary technology.

    True, local governments do get their aerial photography cheap from the state land authority, but most of Nearmaps founding clients were LGA's, so this in itself proved to me the market for more frequent updates. I also liked SN's original vision of capturing imagery over AUSTRALIA! If they achieve that then every other market in the world is easy.
