I think that MC borrow their shares from Merril Lynch who have around 40m. They then short the price down to desperation for the average punter and buy back the borrowed shares.

It looks to me as though they have done the shorting share price drop. The punters were slashing their wrists until this morning.

I'm thinking that MC need to buy back now or have another go at depressing the market. They are both smart and strong but they must be licking their wounds this morning.

If the punters keep buying, and the excellent value says they should, MC might just leave us alone as there is nothing to be gained by throwing more shorts at a company with good cash reserves and now proven gas reserves.
