i just bought in today based on the fact that slr along with many other producers have been hammered while gold until lately has been realtively stable. looking at a 1 year or 2 year chart i can understand why many would have a negative sentiment. for a newcomer like myself i see it as a good opportunity at the minute so hopefully any losses long termers are sitting on will start to turn around in the next few months or so. i bought into slr and nst today and although i am now down on both (albeit marginally) i am confident that within 12 months both should be well above their current lows. they are still making 500-600/oz profit. unless we think the sky is going to fall on our heads the renewed selling pressure should be relatively short lived. gold seems to be in a small downtrend but do we really think its heading to 1000 or lower?
