There are two possibilities.
1.A supply glut.
If spot markets do not take new order at this rock bottom price due to slow growths in import countries.
India has just order a cargo from BG last month. India always considered Australian LNG is expensive.
2. A gas crisis.
If spot markets do not take new order and a stronger USD.
Those 2 things could happen in this low price environment as big/small projects have been stalled.
Existing projects are SAFE for now. They can ride out the storm.
Spot markets are more important than longer dated contracts because existing projects can generate income while longer dated contracts must take oil price in to account in order to suit prevailing market conditions.
Therefore new projects are the LOSERS even those they do show promising flow tests at a commercial rate.
