Gappa said "My question is maybe Hitachi were the drag on the partnership as much or more so than GE? And now They've been given marching orders with a go away price and hence written down their books and gotten a little miffed about the whole thing."

That could be a real possibility, I guess we will never know?
But in a way I get a sense that Hitachi were not happy in the end i.e. the loss of dividends they mentioned, why even bother mentioning that? if it were just an OK, it didn't work out like we though it may have?
then why allude to the fact to the newspapers that GLE had failed, when in fact in real terms it was just GEH's plan that didn't work out?

I sometimes wonder if GEH wanted to just stall this until Silex folded?

I guess we will never know, but there may be a sting in the tail for GEH, because I believe all of the stalling just gave Silex more time to work on some other things, that perhaps only make the LIS technology even more usable?
