My point was that once you get away from the politicians, screaming minority groups and the media wanting to throw mud and fan the flames yes we do want the same things .
As with almost everything when you get to the ordinary people we are not that different, look at wars --- do the soldiers want to be there killing people ? NO.
Just shoot the guys wearing all the feathers (the ones who send us there ) and we can all go home
eg - In all the good cowboy and Indian films of an earlier time it was always the story of killing the chief who wore the biggest head-dress of feathers and then the rest of them could pack their bags and go home as the battle would be over if the leaders were killed
