Hmmm - I actually see them keeping Liddell running was more of a loss to them (esp in terms of operational cost + opportunity cost of what they could do with the space).
With Green Hydrogen getting a nod in the budget (I didn't pick up anything ambitious ala US Gov IRA), the Hunter Energy hub is looking more viable.
There is an investor day coming up in the next month - which, if I was to take a guess, should see an announcement/more detail around how they plan to transition (perhaps some details on the Hunter Energy hub) - which would increase institutional/market confidence that they have a viable transition path that won't require a cut in dividends or an equity raise etc.
