That is the point Firebeard. These holders will be expecting a premium. That will happen if the current crop is reduced. IMHO, that is gonna be the case big time this season. Anecdotally, my small collection of hives was opened this weekend. Not worth harvesting. The eucalypts are growing but not flowering due to October rains. Capilano will almost certainly be paying a premium for honey this season.
Good management etc cannot fly in the face of reduced supply and or increased wholesale prices. Remember, this stock is approx 11 times its price from 18 months ago. For mine, prudent profit taking is a given. I will be looking for a sustained downward movement as the season progresses. Best wishes.
