The days of coal fired power stations are numbered. The Mongolian government just cancelled the planned 1 billion dollar Tavan Tolgoi coal project and associated plans to have it listed through an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange overnight.

They may have seen a more environmentally- friendly opportunity to accelerate discussions with Elixir in developing the nearby Production Sharing Contract and it’s massive clean gas deposit in the same region. Elixir recently described discussions with a variety of partners as “live” through the COVID 19 crisis.
