    everyone wants to ignore the fact that tax revenues from property are received by governments at the point of sale.

    A net of 25bn in 2009 to be precise. this has been going on since the 80's at significant values.

    the tax deductions from NG lost the government tax revenue of 5b in same year.

    So to tax 30b out of property owners it costs the government 5b. giving a net of 25b.

    Now all the property down rampers are asking the government to forgo this income for sake of affordability.

    Doesn't it grate even more that this revenue hole from killing NG would have to be chased from all tax payers including renters?

    I think some people need to be careful what they wish for.
