At  the end of the day I think they just paid way to much in the beginning. Borrowed way to much. Perhaps they thought they would be sitting on a big Eldorado but we know now finding it and proving it up is another thing. It takes time and a heap of $$$$$$.  If they did it the old Troy way perhaps things would be different. Knowing mining they should have looked at worst case scenario but they didn't. They have done a good job lately and with some luck if we can strike some good viens we will be in business. They should soon have the bigger $$$$ they need to find some good stuff.
