I think an accidental lab escape is definitely plausible. Especially when that lab is only a few metres up the road from ground zero of the outbreak.
I also think Li-Meng Yan should be taken seriously. Don't take her word as gospel, but don't ignore her either. Not sure why she was taken off twitter straight after joining, Chinese pressure I presume.
