You are right, except possibly not several years away. Look up FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designation. IMU's drugs most certainly will be classified as breakthrough therapy, so the process can be expedited. It would usually take several years, but can be much faster. We are all hoping for commercialisation sooner rather than later
