    g'day stayer.... so are you saying that worker safety is unimportant or over-rated? businesses don't want worker injuries and most strive for worker safety. its only more rogue companies that prefer to cut corners on worker safety. this is why such regulation is necessary.

    and for wages.... do you want a thriving demand economy? or would you prefer only the wealthy can buy with disposable income. poor demand for goods and services results in poor businesses that struggle to make a profit. the greater demand the better the profit.

    theres a fine balance required to keep an economy thriving. I guess you aren't that far to the right and that my extreme examples are not appropriate for your beliefs. independents are more likely to be centrist than extreme as Labor and Liberal have both been under various leadership.

    labour costs are not a problem if productivity is strong. businesses need to invest in technology which boosts productivity as labour can only be more productive with better tools.
