Again assuming that solid progress is made and you were offered a choice of having an implant (that may only last a couple of months effectively) and continuing with multiple daily tests and injections. Which one would you opt for?
Sure it would be a pain having the procedure done several times a year but again consider the alternatives.

As far as possible revenue goes …..
There are 125,000 type 1 diabetics in Australia alone.
If only 1% of those patients ended up being treated with implants the figure is already way ahead of burns revenue in this country ….

1,250 x 4 ( implants per year ) x $1,000 of BTM.
That equates to $5mil PA generated from 1% of the pool. More than our total current sales from all other indications.

Food for thought. Very early days though.
And it would be an easy sell to hospital administrators as the cost to the health system from non compliant diabetics alone is enormous. I can assure you that way more than 1% of diabetics are largely non compliant.

I’m one of those 120,000 with T1DM. I’d love nothing more than for this to be a success but this solution is “one piece of the puzzle”.

Sounds like this may solve more issues than I expected. But there is still the availability of donor islets for transplantation (incredibly hard to remove from donor and cannot be frozen/thawed like other cells/organs) and the immune rejection problem.

However, absolutely, as a proof of concept it is amazing work. And glad we’re assisting this research even if it is tertiary to our immediate interests as shareholders.
