Note that the product cost comparison did not come from this study at Rochester Hospital in New York (that information wasn’t provided in this abstract); I have provided comparative product cost figures provided in the referenced publication from the Childrens’ Hospital in Philadelphia.

Finally, am I correct in taking the mean profit figures provided as being the profit to the hospital? If so, this could explain a lot about why some hospitals continue to use the  much more expensive and much less effective Integra IDRT product. Despite the fact that, according to the authors, BTM use reflects more efficient resource use “aligning with broader trends in healthcare emphasizing value-based and patient-centered care.”
