In the USA and soon here the system is dictated by the insurance companies. If BTM is cheaper to buy and there is less theatre and hospital stay time then this is what the insurance companies will be looking at. BTM will win hands down. The private hospitals can fill the vacated BTM bed with another patient and continue their profit. In the NHS and all public not for profit hospital BTM is the stand out option. Cheaper, less theatre time , less return to theatre,less infection .
