    They've actually had this identity crisis since about 2009 when Abbott first replaced Turnbull as opposition leader over climate/energy policy. It's taken a long time to splinter their support base in the same way the party was divided, but finally it appears to have done so. A significant part of their base have decided they're no longer supporters.
