"With a progressive government coal will be completely gone"
Progressive government or not, coal isn't going anywhere. By 2050 there will be many more coal fired power stations on earth than there are now. Renewables have a long, long way to go before they come anywhere near the power levels of coal.
I don'tknow how old you are but 30 years is a mere sliver of time. If you are long gone then your kids or grandkids will be around to thank todays politicians for ignoring the global warming religious garbage.
Bring on more coal and while we're at it lest have a go at nuclear.
